It is with great sadness that our family announces our beloved Mom and Nanny, Cora Yvonne Bussey (Mitchell) passed away peacefully on November 19, 2023, at the age of 76.  Yvonne went by her middle name to family and friends.

Yvonne was born in Woodstock, NL on September 21, 1947.  She married her husband, Valance Bussey in 1965 and gave birth to her three daughters.  They raised their children in Ft. McMurray, AB for most of the years.

She loved to crochet, knit and always wanted to be on the go. She loved the color yellow, yellow roses, and sunflowers.  Yvonne will be remembered for her fun personality, laughter, and the sparkle in her eyes.

Yvonne will be lovingly remembered by her children, Belinda Ferro (Ed (deceased), Greg), Marilyn Grieser (Phil), and Connie Nye (Scott).

Her five grandchildren were the light of her life, and in turn, she was beloved by Philip Grieser, Joshua Grieser (Chelsea), Cambria Dowson (Dylan), Alexandra Nye, and Victoria Nye.  They fondly remember Nanny's Newfie-cooked dinners and her cupboards always having amazing snacks.  Yvonne was honored to have four great-grandchildren, Cole Grieser (Joshua), Thomas Dowson, Caleb Dowson (Cambria), and Christopher Grieser (Joshua).

Left with loving memories of their beautiful sister are Sheila Simms, Melvie Bussey (Harold), Reg Mitchell (Jessie), Mackenzie Mitchell, Bernice Regular (Pleman), Judy Sacrey (McKinley), Pearce Mitchell (Maxine), Rex Mitchell (Gloria) and her large circle of extended family and friends.

Yvonne is predeceased by her parents Peter and Caroline Mitchell, and siblings Herb Mitchell, George Mitchell, Hilda Fudge, Woodrow Mitchell, Ralph Mitchell, Chesley Mitchell, Blanche Regular, Flossie Taylor, and her in-law parents Solomon and Elsie Bussey.

A private visitation with the family and extended family will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home/Botwood Funeral Home, Botwood, NL.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Salvation Army, Main Street, Peterview, NL.
