It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Woodrow Albert Mitchell announces his passing from Green Bay Health Centre, Springdale, NL on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the age of 89 years.

Woodrow was born on December 18, 1933 to the late Ida and Peter Mitchell in Woodstock, NL. He married the love of his life, Lillian Andrews on August 30, 1960 and together they shared 62 years and seven children, Albert, Francis, Gail, Della, Lawrence, Goldie and June.

Woodrow was a hard working man who provided for his family by working in the woods and fishing which he retired from in 1998.

In his later years he gave his life to the Lord and went to church regularly until his health started to fail him. Even though he could not attend church he still listened to it every chance he got.

He was always ready to tell a story to anyone who would listen, and he was guaranteed to make you chuckle.

Left with fond and loving memories is his wife, Lillian; children, Albert (Roxanne), Francis (Lisa), Gail (Gary), Lawrence (Norma), Goldie (Scott) and June (Alonzo); 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 8 siblings and 10 siblings-in-law, special niece, Margaret Randell, as well as an extra large circle of extended family and friends.

Woodrow is predeceased by his daughter, Della Mitchell; infant grandson, Peter F. Mitchell; mother, Ida Mitchell; father, Peter Mitchell; step-mother, Caroline Mitchell; brother, Ralph Mitchell; sister, Blanche Regular; parents-in-law, Cluney and Blanche Andrews, as well as a large circle of brothers, sisters, and siblings-in-law.

Public visitation took place from The Salvation Army Citadel, Woodstock, NL on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.

The funeral service took place from The Salvation Army Citadel, Woodstock, NL on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 2 pm with Majors Neil and Dolores Abbott officiating. Interment followed from The Salvation Army Cemetery, Woodstock, NL.

As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Woodrow's memory to The Salvation Army Citadel, P.O. Box 17, Woodstock, NL A0K 5X0.
