It is with great sadness that the family of Wilson John Randell announces his passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025 at the age of 82 years. Wilson was born on August 12, 1943 in Hooping Harbour.

He's predeceased by his parents, Oliver & Katie Randell, Grandson, Kameron and brothers in law Claude and Ivan.

He was a loving and devoted husband to Ruby for 59 years, supportive and caring father to Jeffrey (Jennaleigh), everything you could ask for in a poppy to Kurtis (Kyndel) and proud great poppy to Remi, Harper and Archer. He also leaves to mourn his brother, Pleaman (Bernice);  sisters-in-law: Selma(Bud), Pansy (Reuben) Sadie, Joyce, Pearl (Wayne) and Rita (Frank); Brothers-in-law: Joshua (Pauline) and Roger; and a large number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Wilson was known as a very hard and dedicated worker. For many years he worked as a heavy equipment operator and as a fisherman along with Ruby and Jeffrey for 35 years. Wilson was known as a "fixer" – if Wilson couldn't fix or repair something, most likely it couldn't be done. Everyone came to him for repairs knowing that he most likely had what they needed. He was also a member of the Canadian Rangers for 25 years.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Nakkar, nurses and staff of the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre for their compassion and care shown to Wilson during his stay at the hospital.

Public visitation will take place at The Salvation Army Citadel on Thursday, September 4th from  2-4PM  &  7-9 PM  in Woodstock.

The Celebration of life service will take place at The Salvation Army Citadel in Woodstock on Friday, September 5th at 2:00 PM with Major  Laverne Fudge officiating assisted by Majors Frank & Rita Pittman. Internment will take place at the new United Church Cemetery in Woodstock.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Church Cemetery Fund.
