It is with broken hearts that the family of the late William "Billy" Shea announces his tragic passing in Fleur de Lys, NL on Monday, January 29, 2024, aged 82 years.

Left with a lifetime of precious memories are his children, Nancy Lewis (Tony), George Shea, Dale Shea (Shelly), all of Fleur de Lys, NL, Lisa Mitchell (Francis), Woodstock, NL, Ester Lewis (Lee), Clarenville, NL and Billie-Joe Hodder (Philip), St. John's, NL; grandchildren – Billie-Jean (Karen), Sherri-Lynn (Kyle), Sheena (Vann), Chantelle; Dennis (Jenna), Deanna (Daniel), Sarah (Cody), DJ (Brianna); Matthew (Chantelle), Justina, Jenna (Jeff); Karlee (Foster), Kolby (Melanie); Zoe and Willow; great-grandchildren, Arabella, Ronnie, Jordan, Casey, Lucas, Natalie and Alex; siblings, Jimmy Shea (Doreen), Staci Shea (Junior Burton), Shirley Shea (Steve Godsmark), Angus Shea, Myrtle Dempsey (Patrick) and Elizabeth Lewins; siblings-in-law, Linda Shea, Edwin Murdza, Harold Tobin (Lucy), Fred Tobin (Bessie), Patrick Tobin (Lucy), Jerry Tobin (Julie) and Len Tobin (Karen); special cat, Ollie "Violet"; lifelong friend, confidant, and ally Victor Barrett. A special thank you to Genevieve, Jeanie and Rose (predeceased) for their compassionate care. Philip Hodder for being his friend, his fixer, his go to guy and for his deep connection and respect for our Dad, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Billy is predeceased by his wife, Jean; parents, Leo and Catherine Shea; siblings, infant sister, Annie, Leo Shea, Jenny Power (John), Cathy Shea, Von Murdza; parents-in-law, William and Bridget Tobin; siblings-in-law, infants, Mary Ester, Josephine and Gerard, Tony Lewins and Midge Tobin; as well his precious dog, Benji.

A special thank you to all the first responders, including the Fire Departments of Fleur de Lys, Coachman's Cove and Baie Verte, the paramedics, RCMP, and the communities and residences for their quick response and tremendous support as well as the continued support for George and the family. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Fleur De Lys Mobile, Over n Out.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place.

Irish wake service will take place from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Fleur de Lys, NL on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 10 am - 12 pm.

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Fleur de Lys, NL on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 1 pm with Father Anthony Aikins officiating. Interment will follow from St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to assist Billy's son, George Shea by e-transfer to billiejoehodder@hotmail.com .

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
