Passed peacefully at his residence in Point Leamington, NL, Walter Maxwell Andrews aged 100 years. He was the oldest resident of Point Leamington, NL.
Walter leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children, Bob (Jeanette), Clyde (Marilyn), Josephine (Gilles), Lorne (Pansy), Gerry (Nancy), Gail (Oliver), & Rodney; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Walter is predeceased by his loving wife, Joan; infant children, Roy, & Roxanne; his cherished granddaughters, Natashia, & Kelsey; parents, Henry & Janet Andrews; siblings, Sigard, Montrose, Lorenzo, Ledrick, Winnifred, Kitty, Veronica, Luta, and Hettie.
Walter was a devoted man who adored all of his family. He loved company and could carry on a conversation for hours about his life and years gone by. He had a great sense of humor and a very sharp mind right up until his passing. Walter was a carpenter and an avid woodsman who loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. In his earlier years, he also owned his own boat taxi that transported passengers to and from surrounding towns. He was well known in his community.
The public visitation will take place Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 7-9 pm, Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm from the Pentecostal Assembly, Point Leamington, NL.
The funeral service will take place Monday, March 2, 2020 at 11 am from the Pentecostal Assembly, Point Leamington, NL with Pastor Baine Andrews officiating.
The interment will follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Point Leamington, NL.
The family would like express a special thanks to Dr. Sin Yan Too of the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre, and to the nursing staff of the Community Care Centre.
As expressions of sympathy donations in his memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
