It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Wade Lewis Tilley announces his passing from the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the age of 65 years.

Wade was born July 23, 1957, in Round Harbour to Lewis and Emma Tilley. He was a third child of five siblings. Wade grew up in round Harbour but moved to La Scie in the fall of 1969. At the age of 21 he started dating Pamela Snooks they married in 1982 and that same here had their only child Crystal. Wade had a lengthy career in the La Scie fish plant. He started there at the age of 16 in 1973 and worked until the age of 59 in 2017 in 1984 Wade, Pam, and Crystal move to Tilt Cove and live there until 1991. At that time they moved back to La Scie and he resided in their family home until August 2022.

Wade was someone who loved the outdoors. Snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, camping and going out in boat were all things he loved to do. Especially with friends. He also had a passion for collecting; Coins to pass down to his grandson and old antiques which he proudly displayed in his porch. He had a great knack for obtaining things. Especially from the fish plant.

In August, due to health issues, Wade made the choice to move in to Kingsway living in Springdale.  In the short time he was in Kingsway, he made many friends, and loved to tell everyone how much he enjoyed it there.  He told many how he wished that he had made the move years ago, and he cherished the staff dearly, as they became like a second family.

Left with a lifetime of precious memories is his daughter, Crystal Osbourne (Gary), Tumbler Ridge, BC; grandson, Jared Osbourne; siblings, Kharis Collins (Malcolm), Roxann Gray (Ross), Diane Blackwood and Rhonda Gray (Bob); in-laws, Kevin and Alma Snooks; siblings-in-law, Rose Tilley, Darren Snooks (Bev), Denise Snooks-Wilson (Darren), Darlene Snooks-Desbois (Pat), Kevin Snooks Jr. (Charmain) and Angela Turner (Jamie); special friends, Adam Short and Oliva Pope as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Wade is predeceased by the mother of his daughter, Pam Tilley; parents, Lewis and Emma Tilley; brother, Barry Tilley; nephew, Colin Collins.

Public visitation took place from The Salvation Army Citadel, La Scie, NL on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.

The funeral service took place from The Salvation Army Citadel, La Scie, NL on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 1 pm with Major Kay Barnes officiating. Interment followed from First United Cemetery, Shoe Cove, NL.
