Passed peacefully away at the Carmelite House on September 17, 2023, Verna Elizabeth Hynes, aged 82 years.

Verna leaves to mourn her children, Wavey (Dave), Linda, Garry (Teellia), Roy, Bonnie (Jeff), & Tracey (Harold); grandchildren, Crystal Tatchell (Corey), Jeremy Quintal (Leslie), Adria Williams (Shawn), Leah Mulder (Eric), Elena Phillips (Ryan), Hunter Lowe, & Hayley Lowe; great-grandchildren, Elysha Quintal, Zander Tatchell, Amelia Lowe, & Elise Williams; sister-in-law, Phyllis Burt; as well a a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Verna is predeceased by her husband, Henry Hynes; parents, Herbert & Lucy Burt (nee Legge); brothers, Calvin Burt & Ron Burt; sister, Eileen Cave.

The visitation will take place Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 7-9 pm from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

The funeral service will take place Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 11 am from The Salvation Army Park Street Citadel, 27 Park Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

The interment will follow at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Caribou Road, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

Special thanks to the many friends & neighbors who took the time to visit and chat with her and made themselves available to drive her to her appointments & errands.

She will be remembered for her skills at knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilt making, & especially for her love of animals.
