It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Velma "Myrtle" Young announces her passing from her family residence in Burlington, NL on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the age of 76 years.

Left with a lifetime of precious memories is her husband, Roger Young, Burlington, NL; children, Ben Prouse (Judy), Middle Arm, NL, Navin Young (Bonita), Kirk Young (Sheila) and Deano Young, all of Burlington, NL, Tina (Clem) Thomas, Deer Lake, NL and Jennifer Whelan (Mervin), Smith's Harbour; grandchildren, Natasha (Eric), Ryan, Lucas, Brandon (Irish), Carrie (Tylar), Sydney, Samuel (Joelle), Callie, Sarah and Matthew; great-granddaughter, Lillian; siblings, Alma Thomas, Tony Thomas, Alex Prouse (Judy), Sophie Noseworthy (Warrick), Olive Bowers (Harvey), Mick "Lomond" Thomas (Ivy), Lloyd Thomas (Mavis), Wonnie Pride, Ethel (David) Young; siblings-in-law, Thelma Keough, Willis Young (Audrey), Stewart Young (Bernice) and Dulcie Kelly, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

She is predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Marie Prouse; birth parents, Chelsey and Lillian Thomas; siblings, Olive Budgell , Verna Thomas, Roy Thomas and Tootsie Morey; parents-in-law, Sidney and Florence Young.

Public visitation took place from Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington, NL on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.

The funeral service took place from Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington, NL on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 1pm. Interment followed form the United Church Cemetery, Burlington, NL.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
