It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Velma Annie (Gray) Morey announces her passing. Velma slipped peacefully into the presence of the Lord at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Sunday, August 8th, 2021 at the age of 69 years.
Predeceased by parents – Clarence and Gertie Gray; parents-in-law – Titus and Emily Morey; siblings – Manuel Gray (Viola), Willie Gray and Cluney Gray; siblings-in-law – Sharon Gray, Adolphus Morey, Peter Morey (Millicent), Hubert Morey, Effie Hayden (Cecil) and Velma Burton.
Left to cherish many wonderful memories is husband Harvey Morey, Shoe Cove, NL; children – Pansy Martin (Brian), Shoe Cove, NL, Jerry Morey (Vanessa), Ming's Bight, NL, Dwayne Morey (Lizza Marie), Edmonton, AB, Barbara Foster (Merricks), Shoe Cove, NL and Jon Morey (Gwen), Shoe Cove, NL; grandchildren – Tiffany Hann (Adam), Tyson Martin (Rebecca), Damara Morey, Devin Morey, Keilen Morey, Miguel Foster, Erica Foster, Jaiden Morey and Sierra Morey; great-grandchildren – Ava Hann, Harlyn Hann, Kash Bowers and Khloe Martin; siblings – Shirley Gray (Bob), Randolph Gray (Pauline), Hayward Gray (Donna), Betty Osbourne (Malcolm), Dorothy Foster (Augustus), Scott Gray (Norma), Rick Gray and Diane Martin; siblings-in-law – Cyril Morey (Evelina), Roy Morey (June), Guy Morey (Brenda), Sam Morey (Emma), Shirley Rowsell (David), Freeman Morey (Myra), Lloyd Burton, Pearl Morey, Vera Morey, Ivy Gray and Wavey Gray, as well as a large circle of step great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, church family and many, many friends.
Public Visitation took place at Zion Pentecostal Church, Shoe Cove, NL, on Tuesday, August 10th, 2021 from 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM, following specific guidelines pertaining to the global pandemic and associated restrictions.
Pastor Norman & Shirley Slade conducted a Private Family Funeral Service at Zion Pentecostal Church, Shoe Cove, NL. on Wednesday, August 11th, 2021 at 2:00PM. Interment followed at Zion Pentecostal Cemetery, Shoe Cove, NL.
