Obituary

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Theresa Josephine Shelley of Baie Verte, NL, who left this world in the arms of her family peacefully on September 3, 2025, at the age of 64.

Theresa was a bright light to all who knew her. Known for her bubbly personality, infectious laugh, and warm, loving nature, she brought joy to every room she entered. Theresa lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories, which she shared generously with her family and friends.

Her greatest pride in life was her beloved son Robbie , whom she adored deeply and spoke of with endless pride. She also held her step-sons Walter and Adam close to her heart, celebrating their successes as if they were her own. For 34 beautiful years, Theresa shared her life with the love of her life, Sidney Blagdon. Together, they built a bond of unwavering love and companionship that stood the test of time. Theresa and Sidney shared a home in Baie Verte where they raised their family, and cherished time in their summer home in Coombs Cove.

Theresa had a special gift for turning ordinary moments into lifelong memories. Wherever Theresa was, there was sure to be laughter. Whether it was singing around the kitchen table, laughing until tears fell, or sharing old stories with family, she made those around her feel truly seen and loved. Her sisters and nieces will forever cherish the sleepovers, late-night chats, old movies, and snacks that filled their time together with warmth and laughter.

To know Theresa was to love her. She will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to share in her life — her family, friends, and everyone who had the joy of hearing her laugh or feeling her kindness.

In honoring her memory, may we all hold each other a little closer, laugh a little louder, and never miss a chance to tell our loved ones how much they mean to us — just as Theresa always did. Her final wishes were this, "Don't be sad for me, but think of me sometimes and smile".

Your compassion, attentiveness, and gentle care during Theresa's final hours meant more to us than words can express. You treated her with such dignity and supported our family with grace and understanding. It was clear to us that what you do is not just a job, but truly a calling—and we could not have asked for better care.
