Obituary

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Sylvia Marina Sharron on September 27, 2025, aged 90 years.

Sylvia was the devoted and supportive wife of Joseph Sharron. Together they built a beautiful family, raising their three children: Gerald (Cathy), Derick (Annette), and Cathy (Terry Martin). She was a loving grandmother to Sarah (Charles Walker), Barbara (Rex Oldford), Ricky (Brenda), Philip, Carl Ross (Brittany), and Hilary. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Tyler, Katie, William, Charles David, Alexandra, Danielle, Council, Justice, Eve, Cohen, and Lincoln. Also a great-great- grandmother to Ryker and Declan.

Sylvia was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews, who cherished her dearly.

Born in Point Leamington, Sylvia was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Rita Baggs. She was the beloved big sister to Bernice (Joseph Brown), Evelyn (Winston Peyton), Lillian (Norman Rowe) and Evelyn Mary.

Though she began her journey as a businesswoman and mother, Sylvia's greatest calling was found when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her faith transformed her life and left a lasting influence on her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her. Sharing her love for Christ became her ultimate passion, and her legacy of faith will live on for generations.

Sylvia also had a deep love for learning, health, and the beauty of God's creation. She found joy in sharing what she learned with others. She will be remembered for her wisdom, her gentle spirit, and her unwavering devotion to both her family and her faith.

A special thank you to the staff at the Long Term Care Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor & St. Patrick's Mercy Home in St John's for their loving care.
