It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susannah (Susie) Ricketts, who passed away peacefully at Baie Verte Hospital Acute Care Unit on November 1st, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born in Pumbley Cove NL, Susie later resettled to Westport in the 50's where she built a loving home with her husband Grogan Ricketts. Together they had 6 sons, who were their greatest pride and joy.
Susie was a woman of many talents and endless warmth. She had a true passion for gardening, sewing, quilting and cooking, always finding joy in the simple, beautiful things in life. Her home was a place of love, laughter, and the smell of home cooked meals.
Her gentle nature, strong spirit and kind heart touched everyone who knew her. Susie's legacy of love, creativity and family will live on through her children, grandchildren and all who were lucky enough to be a part of her life.
Predeceased by her husband Grogan, her parents Obediah and Clara Davis, her sister Mary Davis, her son Barry and her granddaughter Kira.
Left with loving memories are her sons Cluney (Naomi), Ada Ricketts (Roger Osmond), Robert (Rose), Dale (Betty), Jerome (Gina) and Colin (Lisa); Brothers Merv Davis (Shirley), Clayton Davis (Ruby), Willis Davis and sister Effie Rice along with Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and a large extended family and friends.
The public visitation will take place Monday, November 3rd, 2025, from 2-4PM at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Westport, NL.
The funeral service will take place Tuesday, November 4th, 2025, at 11AM at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Westport, NL, Interment will follow at the St. Peter's Anglican Cemetery, Westport, NL.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in Susie's Memory to Baie Verte Hospital Acute Care Unit and The ACW Westport, NL.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the acute care unit for all the care she received while she was there.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
