It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Susan "Susie" (Downey) Furey announces her passing. Susie passed away peacefully at the Central Newfoundland Regional Hospital, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Friday, March 5th, 2021 at the age of 86 years.
Susie is predeceased by her husband - Edward Furey (1986); son - Patrick Furey (2008); parents - Francis & Sarah Philpott; son-in-law - Edward Hartigan; step-grandson - Paul Hartigan; parents-in-law - Patrick & Catherine Furey and siblings - Lillian Barker (Ron), Michael Downey, Andrew Downey (Evangeline), Margaret Drover (Phonse) and Alice Hurley (Joseph).
Left with many loving memories are her children - Pauline Hartigan, Deer Lake, NL and Cathy Furey (Don), Baie Verte, NL; daughter-in-law - Lenora Cooper; grandchildren - Kelly Wynen, Craig Furey, Tim Furey, Brett Lacey, Nakita Lacey and Connie Hartigan-Huxter; great grandchildren - Christina, Brianna, Jake and Sam; siblings-in-law - Mary Downey, Thelma Furey and Evelyn Furey as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, the Public Health Advisory and associated restrictions, we regret to announce that there will be no Public Visitation or Public Funeral Service. Father Camillus Ekedobe conducted a Private Family Funeral Service at Foster Funeral Home, Baie Verte, NL. Interment will take place at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Cemetery, Highway 410, Baie Verte, NL.
A special thank you to the nurses and staff at the Valley Vista Senior's Complex for their loving care of our Mom.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susie's memory to St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Baie Verte, NL.
