It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sidney Sacrey announces his passing from the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Thursday, August 13, 2026, aged 97 years.

Sidney was born in Pacquet, There he met the love of his life Phyllis. They married on November 13th 1951 and were blessed to raise a family of 5 children.

Sidney can be described as a man of many talents. in the early years he fished with his dad and worked at Rambler mines. He was a carpenter by trade and he loved building things and doing wood work. He loved berry picking and making special memories with his family. His devotion to his family and to God and his church was remarkable. A man of faith and a pillar of his church. He left a great legacy to all of us.

Sidney leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his beloved wife Phyllis; his children Junior (Dianne), Gus (Donna), Lawson (Joan), Gail (Claude); His cherished grandchildren, Noelle Burton, Trevor Sacrey (Nicci), Janelle (Colton), Joshua Sacrey (Tamly), Tim Sacrey (Krista), Wendy Foster (Jason), Terri-Lynn Jenkins (Trevor), Tanya Sacrey, Jeremy Greenham, Jennifer Greenham,  Johathan Seymour, Nikita Vallianatos (Ari), Stephanie Seymour (Ryan); 25 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; special nephew Roy Sacrey (Janet); Brother in-law, Martin Clarke; Sisters in-law, Margaret Burton and Audrey Prodale. Plus, a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Sidney is predeceased by his infant daughter Regina Ann and daughter Marie Seymour; Son in-law Junior Seymour; Grandson in-law Jason Burton; Parents Robert & Maude Sacrey; Parents in-law Augustus & Ida Churchill; Siblings Andrew Sacrey (Fannie), Emily Hillard (Charlie), Leah Earle (Stanley), Ralph Sacrey (Edna), Marie Norman (Ross), Minnie Sacrey; Siblings in-law, Joan Clarke, Leslie Anstey, Elizabeth Anstey, Edger Burton, William & Louise Churchill, Roland Churchill, Tom Lever, Gunther Prodale, Eleanor and Boyce Sacrey.

Public visitation will take place from Harvest Time Pentecostal Assembly, Pacquet, NL on Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.

The funeral service will take place from Harvest Time Pentecostal Assembly, Pacquet, NL on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at 2:00pm, with Pastor Keith Simms officiating. Interment will follow from Harvest Time Pentecostal Cemetery, Pacquet, NL.
