It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Elizabeth Lannon on July 9, 2024 in her 75th year at the Terrace Lodge in Aylmer, Ontario.

Sharon is survived by her beloved partner of 35 years, Steen Christensen, her four sisters, Dawn (Gerry), Gail (Art – deceased), Peg (Len) and Lisa (Dave), Sharon's 7 nieces and nephews Jamie, Lisa, Janet, Ben Kate, Ashley and Sean and many great nieces and nephews and Sharon's tight knit group of girlfriends.

Sharon is predeceased by her parents William and Madeline Lannon.

Sharon was born on September 23, 1949 and grew up in Grand Falls, Newfoundland where she started her working career at the local radio station, CJON, then with Newfoundland Tractor before she moved to London, Ontario in 1969 where she worked at the London Free Press and the Hamiliton Spectator in the marketing department.

Sharon was known for her incredible sense of humour that never waivered, her many fashionable outfits, her love of shopping and travelling and especially cruises, golfing and enjoying a good glass of wine with her girlfriends – Helen, Cindy, Jenny, Jan and Reta and her life long friend Anne.

Sharon was the original cool cat lady.  She will be remembered for dancing and singing "I don't wanna work, I wanna bang on the drum all day" in the office.  She was forever humourous, beautiful, never judgemental, caring, very intelligent, brave, courageous and one of a kind.

Rest easy our dear Sharon, eternally enjoying yourself at the big shopping mall in the sky.

Sharon passed away on July 9, 2024 after a lengthy struggle with Parkinsons.

A "Celebration of Life" will take place, Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

Donations in Sharon's memory to the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario at 4096 Meadowbrook Drive, #123, London, Ontario N6L 1G4 would be appreciated.

Internment will follow Sharon's Celebration of Life where Sharon will be laid to rest with her Mom and Dad at the RC Cemetery in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and Labrador.
