It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruth Olive Shiner announces her passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Care Centre on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the age of 67 years.

Ruth was born on December 30, 1958 in Middle Arm to Herbert and Melinda Martin. She married the love of her life Wayne Shiner and had two girls together, Kara and Karla. She was blessed with grandchildren in which her family was her whole life. Ruth was a foster parent in which she parented many children that left an imprint on her heart. Ruth loved baking, family gatherings, and sewing. She loved church in which she dedicated much of her time. She was strong in her faith that shone through daily.

She leaves to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories: her husband, Wayne; two daughters - Kara England (Travis), Karla Shiner (Perry Savoury); grandchildren - Cameron Savoury, Carmen Savoury, Kaicei England; siblings - Eileen Moyles (Orville), Paulene Noble, Dorman Martin (Sherry), Manuel Martin (Lorraine), Janice Robinson (Randy), Howard Martin (Noella), Leander Martin (Maureen), Nada Martin (Reginald), George Martin (Kim Grayer), Herbie Martin (Joanne), Romayne Mitchell (Robert); siblings-in-law: Victor Shiner, (Sonya), Cherry Newbury (Gary), Kevin Shiner (Barbara), Michelle Shiner, Beverly Burton (Mikita), Meryl Shiner (Becky), Loretta Burton (Roy); also a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her parents, Herbert & Melinda Martin; grandchildren, Kathleen & Kaleigh Madure; sister, Edith Chipp; mother-in-law, Sadie Shiner; father-in-law, Geddis Shiner; sisters-in-law, Cassie Curry, Audrey Shiner.

Public Visitation will take place Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Bayview Pentecostal Church, Middle Arm, NL from 2:00PM - 4:00PM and 6:00PM - 8:00PM

The Funeral Service will take place Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 1:00PM from Bayview Pentecostal Church, Middle Arm, NL with Pastor Gary Bartlett officiating. Interment to follow from Oceanview Pentecostal Cemetery, Middle Arm, NL.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to The Kids Glow Program, c/o Bayview Pentecostal Church, Middle Arm, NL.
