It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Ruby Jane (Andrews) Starkes announces her passing. Ruby passed away at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Monday, November 29th, 2021 at the age of 78 years.

Ruby is predeceased by husband – George Starkes; grandson – Travis Starkes; parents – John and Pearl Andrews; siblings – Bert Andrews (Phyllis), Claude Andrews, Rowena Bowers (Fred Fudge, Cyril Bowers), Shirley Pelley and Verna Andrews (Wallace); parents-in-law – Lewis and Emeline Starkes; siblings-in-law – Cecil Hiscock and Blanche Perry (Bill).

Left with fond and loving memories are her children – Melvin Starkes (Brenda), Gander, NL and Roxane Small (Lyndon), Baie Verte, NL; grandchildren – Amanda Jantzen (Brandon), Andrew Small (Lauren Hearns) and Ashton Small; great-grandchildren – Freya Jantzen and Ezra Jantzen; siblings – Maisie Hiscock, Harvey Andrews (Ruby) and Henry Andrews (Bride); siblings-in-law – Pleman Starkes (Una), Neta Andrews Price and Merlin Pelley; special friends – Tony and Melissa Gray, Marie Batstone, Heather Burton, Mrs. Gilda Rice, Anne Ford and Phonse Walsh; homecare workers – Jeanette Budgell and Monica Saunders, along with a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends.

Public Visitation took place at Foster Funeral Home, Baie Verte on Wednesday, December 1st, 2021 from 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM. In keeping with the COVID-19 guidelines, visitors must provide NLVaxPass or proof of vaccination + photo id to attend the visitation.

Pastor Ricardo Durdle conducted a Private Family Funeral Service at Trinity Pentecostal Church, Baie Verte, NL on Thursday, December 2nd, 2021 at 2:00PM. Interment followed at Bethany United Cemetery, Baie Verte, NL.

As an expression of sympathy flowers will be gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in Ruby's memory to Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre – Hospital Auxillary, P.O. Box 157, Baie Verte, NL A0K 1B0.
