It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our husband, father, great-grandfather, Ross Derick Blake at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre, Botwood, NL, with his family by his side.

Ross was born to John & Hilda Blake on May 26, 1941 in Peter's Arm, NL. Ross met the love of his life, Marjorie Hibbs together was married November 26, 1965 and resided in Peterview, NL for 56 years. Together they had 4 children that extended to a larger family of 9 grandchildren & 7 great grand-grandchildren.

Ross started his working life as a logger, then later a janitor at Memorial Academy for 23 years. He made friends. Ross enjoyed attending church, the Swinging Seniors, Men's Club, going in the woods on his quad to get wood, & a member of the Peterview Fire Department.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Ross leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Marjorie; children, Wanda (Bernard) King, Donna (Brad) Sutherland, Roxanne (Randy) Loney, & Michael (Vicki) Blake; 9 grandchildren; & 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Elias (Jane), Edgar (Dorothy), Benson (Rita), Bond (Darlene), & Roland (Madeline); sisters, Dianh (Roy), & Betty (Randy); sister-in-laws, Lillian & Gloria; brother-in-law, Sterling Keefe; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.

Ross is predeceased by his parents, John & Hilda Blake; 5 brother; 1 sister.

In keeping with the COVID-19 guidelines there will be a visitation by invitation only on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm from Botwood Funeral Home.  Visitors must provide NLVaxPass or proof of vaccination + photo ID to attend the visitation.

The funeral service will take place Friday, November 5, 2021 at 2 pm by invitation only from The Salvation Army Citadel, Peterview, NL.  Those attending the funeral must provide NLVaxPass or Proof of vaccination + photo ID.

The interment will follow at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Peterview, NL. Pallbearers: Darren Blake, Tyson Blake, Junior Blake, Michael Blake, Reston Blake, & Bernard King.
