It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Rose Marie Downey announces her passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte NL on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the age of 77 years.

Left to cherish a lifetime of beautiful memories are her children, Glenn Downey (Deidre), Fraser Lake, BC and Deanna Downey (Geraldie Barrett), Fraser Lake, BC; grandchildren, Devon Downey, Dylan Downey, Cohen Barrett, Bella Barrett and Sarah Barrett; great-granddaughter, Teegan Downey; siblings, Rita Quinlan, Violet Traverse, Florence Taylor, Faustina Philpott, Linda Dube (John), Samuel Philpott (Joyce Jones), Annie Walsh (Ronald), Edward Philpott (Stella Sacrey) and Raymond Philpott (Robert Cohen); siblings-in-law, Gertrude Pecci, Margaret Walsh and Kathleen Philpott (James), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Rose is predeceased by her husband, John "Jack" Patrick Downey; parents, Lawrence and Mary Philpott; sibling, Catherine Downey (Cyril) and Bernice Forsythe (Franklin); parents-in-law, Francis and Margaret Downey; siblings-in-law, Ann Carrigan (Jim), Joseph Pecci, Mary Fitzgerald (Francis), William Walsh, Francis Quinlan, Leslie Traverse and Jay Taylor, Gerald Downey (Kathleen Connolly).

Father Camillus Ekedobe conducted a Mass of Christian Burial from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Coachman's Cove, NL on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Masks should be worn when not seated and can be removed while seated.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in Rose's memory to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 20, Site 2, Coachman's Cove, NL A0K 1X0.
