Obituary

It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Rosalind Maude Shiner announces her passing. Rosalind slipped peacefully into the presence of the Lord at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Sunday, August 1st, 2021 at the age of 89 years.

Predeceased by her husband – Selby Shiner; son – Vaden Shiner; grandsons – Bradley Shiner & Marvin Shiner; 2 infant brothers; an infant sister; siblings – Maisie Janes (Walter), Ruby Westlake (Larry), Frances Penney, Lewis Penney (Linda) siblings-in-law - Alvie Noseworthy (Percy), Herbert Shiner (Stella), Grayden Shiner, Fred Penney & Alban Giles.

Left to cherish many wonderful memories are her children – Gary Shiner (Darlene), Innisfil, AB, Wally Shiner, Baie Verte, NL, Dwane Shiner (Joan), Smith's Harbour, NL, Derrick Shiner, St. John's, NL, Teddy Shiner (Trina), St. John's, NL, Nolan Shiner (Esther), St. John's, NL, Ruth Penney (Lester), Smith's Harbour, NL & Gayla Saunders (Alonzo), Burlington, NL; grandchildren – Myra, Michelle, Joshua, Nicole, Garland, Graham, Gloria, Grant, Kristian, Greggory, Krystal-Lee, Bailee, Vanessa & Ashley; 26 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings – Reverend Sterling Penney (Thelma), Pastor Walter Penney (Maxine) & Kathleen Giles; special soul sister and friend – Minnie Walsh; siblings-in-law – Bessie Penton, Ada Penney, Bert Shiner (Glenda), Dulcie Whalen (Edward), Charlie Shiner & Burnette Young (Ches), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Public Visitation took place at Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021 from 2:00-4:00PM & 7:00-9:00PM, following specific guidelines pertaining to the global pandemic and associated restrictions.

Pastor Craig Lane conducted a Private Family Funeral Service at Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington, NL on Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 at 11:00AM. Interment followed at Bethel Pentecostal Cemetery, Smith's Harbour, NL.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in Rosalind's memory to Canadian Paraplegic Association, Newfoundland and Labrador Division, P.O. Box 21284, St. John's, NL, A1A 5G6.

"Glory land is not so far away and I'll reach it some glad day - Heaven's home is now my final goal, there to live while ages roll. What a happy day it will be, what a glorious jubilee, all of Heaven will be there - what a meeting in the air!"

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
