It is with profound sadness that the Haas family announces the sudden passing of Ronald Benedict Haas, at his family's home in Brent's Cove NFLD on March 20th, 2026, at the age of 70

Ronald (affectionally know as Benny) was the eldest child of John T Haas and Bertha Haas (nee Price) Born at home by way of a midwife in Harbor Round NFLD on August 16, 1955. He had 11 younger siblings, 3 Children, 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Benny will be forever missed and remembered for his big heart, and his soft spot for animals.  Above all Benny will be remembered for his music, the way he could bring joy to all with the opening of his guitar case.

Benny was predeceased by his maternal Grandmother Johanna Price (Nee Head) (who raised Benny) and grandfather Benjamin Price, Parents John Tusen Haas, and Bertha Haas, Granddaughter Destiny Payne, brother-in-law Brent Regular, sister-in-law Tracy Haas; Martina Matthews; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Benny leaves to grieve, his children, Amy Payne (Alvin), Angie Colborne (Brent), and Jerry Haas; Grandchildren; Chantalé, Katie, Joey, Ava, Allie, Brittany, Christopher, Charlize, Isabella, Claire, Chloe, William, Koby, Angel, Kenny, Lexie and Cruze. Great grandchildren; Dawson, Blaine and Warren; brothers; Melvin Haas (Cathy), Maxwell Haas (Judy), Eugene Haas (Beverly), Chesley Haas, Roger Haas (Brenda) and Rene Haas. Sisters; Mary Dyer (Victor), Kathleen Haas, Joanne Haas (Dave), Patricia Sacrey (Shawn) and Crystal Dyer (Lloyd); Jacqueline Price; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Public Visitation will take place on Friday, March, 27, 2026 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Harbour Round, NL, from 2:00PM - 4:00PM and 6:00PM - 8:00PM.

Funeral service will take place from Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Harbour Round, NL on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 2:00PM
