Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roland Warrick Jacobs announces his passing. Roland passed away at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Thursday, July 15th, 2021 at the age of 85 years.

Predeceased by his parents – William & Pearl Jacobs; parents-in-law – William & Florence Burton; brothers – Robert Jacobs, Samuel Jacobs and Churchill Jacobs and brothers-in-law - Maxwell Burton, Robert Burton, Harvey Jacobs and Clifford Rice.

Left with many fond and loving memories is his wife – Edna Jacobs, Baie Verte, NL; children – Irene Organ (Bishop John), Corner Brook, NL, Willis Jacobs (Joanne), St. John's, NL, Sharon Ricketts (Paul), Corner Brook, NL, Angela Pike (Paul), Halifax, NS and Lindsay Jacobs, Westport, NL; grandchildren – Byron (Valerie), Blair, Zachary (Genevieve), Luke, Sharon, Russell, Angie, Allison and Tim; great-grandchildren – Sophie, Emily, Tyler, Abigail and Fiona Rose; sister – Ethel Jacobs; siblings-in-law – Gladys Collins (Christopher), Donald Burton (Eileen), Jessie Rice, Joyce Osmond (Stewart), Fred Burton (Sue), Phyllis Eckford, Ronald Burton (Phoebe); sisters-in-law – Ida Burton and Lorraine Burton as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Public Visitation took place at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Westport, NL on Saturday, July 17th, 2021 from 2:00-5:00PM, following specific guidelines pertaining to the global pandemic and associated restrictions.

Bishop John Organ conducted a Private Family Funeral Service at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Westport, NL on Sunday, July 18th, 2021 at 2:00PM. Interment followed at St. Peter's Anglican Cemetery, Westport, NL.

As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roland's memory to St. Peter's Anglican Church, Westport, NL.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
