Ming's Bight

Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rockey Wallace Greenham, who passed away on March 24, 2026, at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, at the age of 62.

Rockey was born on February 29, 1964 in Baie Verte, NL to the late Arthur and Audrey Greenham.  He was raised in a loving home in Ming's Bight, where he developed a deep connection to family, community, hunting and fishing.  In his younger years, he went to Alberta in search of work where he spent many years building both his career and life.

In later years, facing health challenges, Rockey returned home to Ming's Bight the place that always held his heart. There he built a new home on the property where he grew up, over looking the ocean.  There he found comfort, peace and lots of cherished memories, in which he still loved to talk about.

Rockey will be remembered for his resilience, his strong ties to his roots, and the strength with which he faced life's hardships. He held a deep appreciation for home, family, and the simple things in life.

Rockey is predeceased by his parents Arthur John "Jack" and Audrey Greenham: Siblings Mackenzie Greenham, Rowena Greenham, Alma Oldford, Kenneth Greenham, Calvin Greenham, Shirley Eastman.  Sibling in laws Alice Greenham and Edgar Short

Left with fond and loving memories are his siblings Baxter (Nerissa) Greenham, Vivian Short, Carl Greenham and Wanda Greenham.     Sibling in-laws Melvin Oldford, Elsie Pitcher, Cynthia Holm and Jim Eastman as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and especially his personal care workers.

In keeping with his wishes Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life summer of 2026.

For those who wish to honor his memory donations can be made to Ming's Bight Calvary Pentecostal cemetery fund.
