With sadness, the family of Robert Gerard "Bob" Martin announces his sudden passing on October 1, 2025.

Bob is predeceased by his parents, Bride and Derm, sisters Mary and Donna, and brother Des. Left with fond memories are his son Daniel (Crystal), grandson Jax, brother Gerard, sister Michelle (Gord), brother-in-law Joey Parrell, nephews Matt (Annie) and Michael, niece Sarah (Daniel) as well as his cousins and great-nieces and nephews, a large circle of friends, and his ex-wife Arlene, who continued to care for him and manage his affairs up until his final days.

Bob was born in Corner Brook and spent his younger years growing up in Pasadena and on the base in Stephenville, where he ended up finishing quite a few scraps he claimed were all started by Gerard & Des.

Whenever possible, Bob enjoyed time on the salmon river with his brothers and friends. He had an aptitude for mechanical work, and spent years working on and driving school buses in Gander, where he settled with Arlene. He was an avid reader, and embodied the words "any day without learning something new is a day wasted," a phrase he often repeated. If you were stuck on a crossword clue, he was your man, and you'd be hard-pressed to get the answer to Final Jeopardy! quicker than he would confidently shout it out.

The family would like to pass along a special thanks to all the staff and residents at Robinsons Personal Care Home in Bishops Falls, as well as the staff and faculty at the Cancer Care Clinic in Grand Falls-Windsor.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for Robinsons Personal Care Home..

Family received friends at Stacey's Funeral Home on Sunday October 5th ,2025 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
