Robert (Bob)
Howard Rowsell
Aug 17, 1953 — Aug 20, 2023
Grand Falls-Windsor
The family of Robert (Bob) Howard Rowsell of Grand Falls-Windsor (formally Point Leamington) is saddened to announce his passing on August 20th, 2023 at the age of 70 years. He fought hard, but lost his short battle with cancer at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor. He was surrounded by his wife and three daughters.
Bob will be forever remembered by his loving wife Lana of 48 years; daughters, Nicole (Terry) Murray, Crystal (Todd) Andrews and Sarah Rowsell; grandchildren, Addison, Ethan, Lily, Kate and Skylar; mother, Amanda Rowsell; brothers Bill, (Brenda) Rowsell, Jim Rowsell, Dennis Rowsell, Rodney (Dianne) Rowsell and sister, Myra Rowsell (Aundre Peyton); as well as many family and friends.
He is predeceased by his father, Cecil Rowsell; mother and father-in-law, Alice and Norman Brent; and brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Fern Brent.
Bob, the eldest of 6 children, was born on August 17th, 1953 to Cecil and Amanda Rowsell of Point Leamington. Bob married the love of his life, Lana in 1975 and raised their three daughters in Point Leamington. They loved each other so much that they renewed their commitment of love in front of their families and friends again in 2015 to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.
In 2013, they relocated to Grand Falls-Windsor to be closer to their daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren.
Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He was known as a kind, gentle, meek and mild man. He lived his life teaching and guiding his family through his example of being an amazing human. He was strong and had a never-ending faith, and his moral character was respected by everyone.
For the past 32 years he worked with Penney Paving and they became another family to him. Lana and her children heard many stories and witnessed the joy his Penney career brought to his life. Bob had a musical gift and loved to sing and play the piano. It was not uncommon to visit Bob's house and be greeted with the sound of his beautiful music, which was his personal way of expressing his love and faith in God. When he wasn't working or making music, he could be found in the kitchen where he cooked with TLC. He is known for his famous bread puddings and had quite a few cooking competitions with his dad. It was always family fun to watch them compete over their bread puddings.
His family was his most precious treasure and he was so very proud of them all. He was a great provider, protector, hard worker, and had a heart of gold. To his family, he was perfect the way that he was. He will be forever missed by all.
Bob,
The girls and I love you. I know that the angels are rejoicing and I know you now have no more pain. Bob you are the love of my life and I will love you forever.
All is well with your soul.
Lana
