It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Reverend Sidney Kenneth Newbury announces his passing from White Bay Retirement Living, Baie Verte, NL on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, aged 83 years.

Left with a lifetime of precious memories is his wife of 59 years, Olive Newbury; children, Ken Newbury (Deanne) and Susan Parsons (Jeff); grandchildren, Matthew Ford (Amy), Chelsea Newbury (Andrew), Ashley Newbury, Megan Parsons and Lexi Parsons; great grandchildren, Sybil, Alexis, Dexter, Deja and Ace; siblings, Cavelle Rogers, Wayne Newbury (Marion) and Ira Newbury (Geneva); siblings-in-law, Zachery Sacrey (Kay), Geraldine Decker, Mazene Decker (Gary) and Evelyn Sacrey, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, Legion Family and many, many friends.

Reverend Sidney is predeceased by his infant daughter, Debbie Elaine Newbury; parents, Bertie and Annie Newbury; brother, Carl Newbury (Adeline); parents-in-law, Dorman and Hermina Sacrey; siblings-in-law, Hedley Rogers, Roy Decker, Gerald Sacrey, Viola Decker (Francis), Ple Sacrey, Eileen Regular (Malcolm), Edna Fleming (Selby) and Jonas Sacrey.

Public visitation took place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Baie Verte, NL on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.

A Family Funeral Service took place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Baie Verte, NL on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 11 am, with Reverend Harry Oake officiating. This is by invitation only. Interment followed from Bethany United Church Cemetery, Baie Verte, NL.

As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Reverend Sidney's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
