It is with great sadness that the family of the late Raymond Malcolm King announces his passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, NL, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the age of 76 years.

Ray was born on March 13th, 1950 in Hampden, NL to Malcolm & Vivian King, He was raised and created a beautiful life in La Scie. On November 19th, 1983 he married the love of his life, his wife Excie and spent his whole life dedicated to her. They raised three kids together Nichole, Chad & Mitch and later was blessed with 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Ray's family was the highlight of his life, he shown the utmost love and affection to them.

Ray was a lifelong fisherman, he began his fishing career alongside his father and continued with Keith Bath until his retirement.

Ray was a soft-spoken, kind and humble man. He gave freely of himself to everyone who was blessed to have known him. He was simply "The Best"

He is predeceased by his parents, Malcolm & Vivian King; Parents in law, Herbert & Ruby Burton; Sister, Vida King; Sisters in law, Viola Ward, Rose Marie(Doll) Wimbleton (Henry); Brothers in law, Ralph Newman & Eugene Gray; Nephews, Vaughn Newman, Chuck Burton & Herbert Ward.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife, Excie King; children: Nichole Hazell (Stephen) Elmsdale, NS, Chad King (Vicki Laudenbach) La Scie, NL, Mitch King (Pam Onipa) Cape Broyle, NL; grandchildren: Becky Pettipas (Ryan), Raymond Hazell (Emily), Deandre King (Zoey Drover), Zander King & Akio Onipa; great-grandchildren: Cooper & Rosie Pettipas; siblings: Wayne King (Kay), Christine Newbury(Gary), Cindy Gray, Bryce King(Maxine), Dave King(Donna), Danny King(Darlene Ford); siblings in law: Donna Gray(Hayward), Judy Newman(Chris Budden), Keith Burton(Luann), Maxine Burton (Eugene Ward), Corey Burton(Stacey), Cecil Ward(Sandra); also a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Bethel Pentecostal Church in La Scie from 2:00–4:00 pm and 6:00–8:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at Bethel Pentecostal Church in La Scie on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
