It is with deep sadness, the family announces the passing of Otis Derick Regular of Woodstock, NL, husband of Wavey (Mitchell) Regular, which occurred on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, with his much-loved family at his side. He was born on March 15, 1955 in Woodstock, NL, a son of the late Mervin and Rowena (Sacrey) Regular.

To say Otis loved life is an understatement! Every day he filled his life with not just contentment, but joy, abundance of joy! Joy that was not just kept quietly to himself, but it flowed from him, and he expressed it to God, to his children, to his wife, to his family and friends around him.

His first love was the Lord Jesus and his second was sharing the Joy and life changing experience that God had made in his life. He made this THE most IMPORTANT aspect of life and wanted everyone around him to know that life's greatest meaning did not come from things of this earth, but the true meaning of life came from the salvation and Truth of God's Word, and the infilling of God's Holy Spirit. He made this the solid foundation for his family!

He was a skilled jack of all trades and did the smallest task with precision and quality. His greatest trade passed onto him from his father was forestry and lumber, he loved his sawmill! His hardest working days and best days were spent at the mill turning trees into lumber. His dream was to spend his retirement enjoying the fruit of his labour at the mill in the outdoors, the smell of the trees, seeing the pieces of lumber being piled up that a buddy would be using for a house, a shed, a stage, a boat.

He worked from 2007 to 2022 at Connors Bros. Clover Leaf Seafoods Company in Blacks Harbour, NB and cherished the friends that he met there. He would work there in the warm months and then winter back home in Woodstock.

He loved company at the house for coffee and cake and chats, he delighted in this and always wanted someone to come by for a visit.

Otis is survived by his much loved and cherished wife of 48 years, Wavey; he was the beloved father to daughter Tara-Lee Kwan and her husband Tak of Ajax, ON; his son Dyson Regular and his wife Melissa of Sussex, NB; he was tremendously proud of his grandchildren: Parker, Bailey, Jerome and Katie. He is also survived by his brothers: Barry (Heather) Regular, Dennis (Kay) Regular, Lorne (Patsy) Regular; sisters: Mavis (Raymond) Hewlett, Nerissa (Baxter) Greenham, Denise (Darrell) Boyd; mother-in-law Margaret Mitchell (Caleb); he will also be remembered his aunt Minnie Walsh and uncle Donald (Shirley) Sacrey; sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister Norma Joan Regular; nephews John Hewlett and Nathan Regular.

Public visitation took place from Woodstock United Pentecostal Church, on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 6 to 8 PM.
Funeral Service took place on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM, also from the church. Interment followed at The United Pentecostal Church Cemetery, Woodstock, NL.

Otis' family would like to thank their family and friends who have supported them through Otis' illness. Your love, support, and prayers will never be forgotten. The family would also like to thank Dr. Nakkar and the wonderful healthcare team who cared for him.
