It is with sadness that the family of the late Olive Marie Janes announces her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, aged 88 years.

Olive was born to Francis and Jean Perrier on March 22, 1932.  On February 25, 1952 she married William Desmond Janes and together raised eight daughters.

Olive was one of those people who was full of life, that loved to experience anything that was on the go.  She strived to excel in everything that she involved herself in doing.  If that meant she spent hours on the computer perfecting her bridge game or lined up the stuffed animals in the middle of the floor to practice her bowling. She was intent on doing her best to impress the members of the fifty-plus club.  Having a nice outfit, her hair just so,  and her make-up producing the right results was the icing on the cake. Then, there was the other side where she convinced she would win the lottery and set up a "three rooms" for the poor.  The rosary was the pit of her life! She harassed people every Wednesday to say it - she fully believed in the power of prayer. Now she is in a place where she is happy, with God and Bill.  Bill was probably waiting for her with a smile on his face while saying, "you forgot my cross-words!"

Olive leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters, Linda (David) Lee, Theresa (Ed) Healey, Daphne (Danny) Cameron, Lorraine (Dave) Byrne, Betty Janes, Sharron Janes (Glen Dyke), Ann (Paul) Higgins, & Kellie (John) Blackmore; grandchildren, Edward, William (Danielle), Colin (Christy), Shawna, Devin, Natasha (Jodi), David (Kayla), & Geoffrey; great-grandchildren, Hope, Jayden, Henry, Adeline; sister, Theresa Marshall; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Olive is predeceased by her husband, William Desmond Janes; parents, Francis & Jean Perrier; brothers, Richard, Gordon, Joseph, Cyril, Pius, Roderick, & Art; sisters, Mary, Angela, & Delia; son-in-law, Phonse Mulrooney.

Due to the COVID 19 restrictions there will be no public visitation or funeral service.  All services will remain private by invitation only.
