It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Norman Henry Perry announces his passing from the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Friday, September 29, 2023, aged 83 years.
Norman was born in St. Anthony, NL on October 16, 1939 to Martha and Allan Perry. He moved to Nipper's Harbour in 1957 for work on the room. He met the love of his life, Betty and they were married on March 4, 1959. Together they had four children.
During his working years, Norman held many different jobs, from working as a cook in the lumber woods, worked with Nobles collecting fish and in later years, boat building. He also spent time as a labourer in Ontario and fished with his wife, Betty for 14 years before retiring.
Norman was an avid volunteer. He was on the Community Council, Fishermen's Committees, Harbour Authority, and Church Boards.
Norman and Betty left Nipper's Harbour in 2009 and spent years in a Cottage in Baie Verte, a Cottage in La Scie and finally settled into White Bay Retirement Living on June 24, 2019.
Norman will be dearly missed and always loved by his family and friends.
Left with a lifetime of beautiful memories is his wife of 64 years, Betty Perry; children, Kevin Perry (Cathleen), Boyd Perry (Carol), Janie Gray (Stanley) and Kay Odunlaye (Arouna); grandchildren, Trina (Dan), Trisha (Shawn), Pamela (Damian), Angela (Craig), Mark (Charlene), Stacey (Charles), Cody (Chelsey), Chloe (Braden), Sonya (Anthony) and Kayla (Aiden); great grandchildren, Lily, Kalyca, Olivia, Kendyll, Jonah, Dylan, Braden and Meredith; siblings, Betty Harbin (Scott), Julia Randell (Lawrence) and James Perry (Nina); siblings-in-law, Joan Roberts and Ruth Randell, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Norman is predeceased by his parents, Allan and Martha Perry; brother, William Perry (Blanche); parents-in-law, Frederick and Janie Randell; siblings-in-law, Eric Randell, Kevin Randell, Barry Randell and Joseph Head.
Public visitation will take place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Baie Verte, NL on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 1-5 pm.
The funeral service will take place from Trinity Pentecostal Church, Baie Verte, NL on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 1 pm, with Pastors Wayne and Joy Baker and Pastor Ricardo Durdle officiating. Interment will follow from the Pentecostal Cemetery, Nipper's Harbour, NL.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in Norman's memory to The Baie Verte Peninsula Health Care Auxiliary, P.O Box 415, Baie Verte, NL A0K 1B0.
