It is with great sadness that the family of the late Norman George Hoddinott announces his passing from the Springdale Green Bay Health Centre on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the age of 86.

George or 'Garge' as he was known to everyone had a larger than life personality that shined through in whatever he did. He was known by everyone and never had a problem making friends. He always met you with a smile and a hearty handshake. He was known to have a chat, and he pulled off many naps in his 86 years.

George is reunited with the love of his life Velma and their 2 sons John and Kenneth. Left to mourn are his daughters, Darlene (Eldon), Wanda (Bob), Krista (Spencer), Stephanie (James), and Son Baxter (Tia); Grand Children, Jeff (Denise), Jessica (Keith), Jasmine, Jake, Andrew, Dani, Courtney, Zachary, Luke, Silas, John and Liam; Great Grandchildren, Harrison, Serenity, Finn & Amara; also left to mourn, his sister Phyllis and a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Public Visitation will take place from First United Church, Shoe Cove, NL on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 2:00PM - 4:00PM and 6:00PM - 8:00PM.

The funeral service will take place from First United Church, Shoe Cove, NL on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:00AM with Reverend Corey Paul Officiating. Interment to follow from First United Cemetery, Shoe Cove, NL.
