It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Neta Ruby Osbourne announces her passing from the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Monday, August 29, 2022 at the age of 84 years.

Neta was born in La Scie, Newfoundland on November 3, 1937 to Maxwell and Gladys Parsons. She married Garland Osbourne and while living in Seal Cove together they raised seven children; Roy, Elizabeth, Evelyn, Margaret, Carl, Blanch and Dwayne. She had a sense of humor that could be matched by no one and there was never a dull moment when she was around.

Everyone was welcome at their home and you were never to leave without a meal. The scars on her kitchen table are a testament to this. These meals may often be followed by many laughs and the occasional singalong. Strangers would quickly feel like family inside these walls. Everyone left their home with full bellies and warm hearts. She will forever be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories is her husband of 68 years, Garland Osbourne; children, Roy Osbourne (Marilyn), Elizabeth Osbourne (Clement), Evelyn Rice (Wayne), Margaret Rice (Maurice), Carl Osbourne (Mary), Blanche Park (Shawn) and Dwayne Osbourne (Vanessa); grandchildren, Darrol (Lori), Dwight (Corina), Ruth Ann (Jody), Desmond (Mandi), Draper (Sarah), Maurice (Sherri-Lynn), Jennifer (Chris), Jenita (Matt) and Jill (TJ), great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Travis, Joshua, Reese, Eva-Lynn, Thomas, James, Brooklyn, Zander, Sierra, Anna, Madison, Owen, Isabella, Olivia; siblings, Elsie (Milton), Blanche, Jessie (Alymer), Bessie, Malcolm, James, Gordon (Sadie), John (Beverly), Garland (Glenda) and Gerald (Viola); sisters-in-law, Maxine Parsons and Ruby Parsons, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Neta is predeceased by her infant son, Harry Osbourne; parents, Maxwell and Gladys Parsons; siblings, Maxwell Parsons (Daisy), William Parsons, and Melvin Parsons; nephew, Roger Parsons; parents-in-law, Pearce and Margaret Osbourne; siblings-in-law, Wallace Chaulk, Cyril Parsons, Melita Parsons and Fern Parsons.

Public visitation took place from St. Swithin's Anglican Church, Seal Cove, NL on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.

The funeral service took place from St. Swithin's Anglican Church, Seal Cove, NL on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 2pm with Reverend Madonna Boone officiating. Interment followed at St. Swithin's Anglican Cemetery, Seal Cove, NL.
