Passed peacefully at The Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre, Botwood, NL, on April 1,2023, Myrtle Mary Kelly formerly of Capstan Island, Labrador South, NL,aged 78 years.

Left to mourn her loss is her daughter, Sandra Hynes (Nish) and grandsons, Clarke and Scott Hynes. Also, siblings, Theresa Jesso, Angie Dempsey, Anita Crocker, Deary and Maynard Benoit.

Predeceased by husband, Michael Kelly; and son, Sean Kelly; brothers, Aiden Benoit, Dolan Benoit, and Harry Benoit; and parents, Maisie and Leo Benoit.

Myrtle was born in Lower Cove on the Port au Port Peninsula. She moved with her family to Labrador in 1972 where she met her forever family with the residents of Capstan Island. She loved to bake, knit, pick berries, and play cards. Always quick to laugh and make others laugh, she was always gentle and unassuming. Our last visit had us waltzing to "The Northern Lights of Labrador", "Labrador Rose" and singing "The Ode to Labrador". For that I am forever grateful.

In keeping with her wishes cremation has take place.  An inurnment will take place at a later date in Labrador.
