It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Morris Samuel Newman announces his passing from the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the age of 63 years.

Morris was born on November 4, 1959 to Cecil and Daphne Newman of Little Harbour Deep. He fished with his father for many years out of Woodstock where he started his family. His son Ian was the light of his life. He loved fishing, hunting and going in the woods. Morris had many friends who he enjoyed spending time with. He loved his family very much and he will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.

From Morris' son, Ian: My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person. He believed in me. "Let me tell you, he is the hole in my heart. His loss is my scar. But let me tell you something, his memory drives me forward every single day of my life."

Gaye Ropson (Ricky), St. Anthony, NL; nieces and nephews, Mason (Vicki), Brandon, Robyn (Lorne) and Jordan (Ashley); great-nieces, Gemma and Gwen; great-nephews, Oakley and Brett; special friends, Dave and Corinna Decker and Tim and Dana Regular, as well as a large circle of extended family and many friends.

Morris is predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Daphne Newman; grandparents, John and Florence Loder and Arthur and Tamara Newman.

Public visitation took place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Baie Verte on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.

The funeral service will take place from St. Paul's Anglican Church, Baie Verte, NL on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 12 pm with Reverend Madonna Boone officiating. Interment will follow from First United Church Cemetery, Woodstock, NL.
