Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Maxwell Andrew Canning announces his passing on Monday, May 25, 2026 at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, NL, aged 85 years.

Pastor Maxwell Andrew Canning had a passion for people and for ministering the word of God. He started in ministry 1976 and retired in 2004. Born and raised in Englee Newfoundland .

Predeceased by parents Fred and Alton Canning; grandson Maxwell Canning; brothers Frank, Fred; nephew Craig Regular; parents-in-law, Ernest & Dorothy Regular; sister-in-law Margaret.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Shirley; sons, Ricky and Darrell; grandchildren, Alyssa Canning, Dariann Canning, Delaney Morden; great grandchildren Dylan, Abby, Deklen, Blake, Oakley; siblings Leslie, Jerry(Shirley), Ronald(Violet), Yvonne, Rayfield (Donna), Marrie Regular (Milton), Rick (Robina), Ross(Yvonne} ,Gloria Jenkins(Hubert), Larry (Jenny).

The public visitation will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Calvary Pentecostal Church, Ming's Bight, NL, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and  6:00pm - 8:00pm.

The Funeral Service will take place at Calvary Pentecostal Church, Ming's Bight, NL on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 1:00pm with Pastor Ricardo Durdle officiating. The interment will follow at Calvary Pentecostal Cemetery, Ming's Bight, NL

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
