It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Eileen Skinner announces her passing on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at the age of 77 years.

Mary Eileen Skinner (Payne) was born in Harbour Round to John and Josephine Payne. Eileen grew up in Harbour Round where she met the love of her life Frank Skinner, and they were married in 1972. They had 2 children that Eileen and her husband raised in a home that they built together. Eileen was a caregiver in her earlier years and later went to work in the fish plant for many years where she met many friends. Eileen passed away on March 18, in her home unexpectedly. She was dearly loved and will be missed by many.

She was predeceased by her husband Frank Skinner; parents, John & Josephine Payne; sisters, Gladys Breen, Margaret Haas, Matilda Payne; brother, Raphael Payne; special niece, Mary Ann Payne; parents-in-law, Jack & Elizabeth Skinner; brother-in-law, Terrence Skinner.

Left with fond and loving memories, her sons Lorne (Alice), Art (Cynthia); grandchildren, Kelsie Skinner, Frankie Skinner; special nephew, Adam Payne; siblings, Shirley Dugas, Patricia Haas, Julia Skinner, Ambrose Payne, Peter Payne (Agnes), Maxine Payne, Linda Payne, Elsie Sullivan (Felix), Clotilda Payne (Wesley), Doris Bowers (Todd); siblings-in-law, Gerard Skinner, Eddie Skinner (Evelyn), Brendan Skinner (Lorraine), Wayne Skinner (Michelle), Victor Skinner, Ron Skinner, Mary Sullivan (Ray), Irene Skinner; home-care workers, Delores Giles & Laura Lee Jones; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Public visitation will take place on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Harbour Round, NL. from 2:00PM - 4:00PM and 6:00PM - 8:00PM. The wake service will take place 7:30pm from Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Harbour Round, NL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place from Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Harbour Round, NL on Monday, March 23, 2026 at 2:00PM. Interment will follow at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Round, NL.
