Ming's Bight
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Mary Fannie Doreen Elms (formerly Jenkins, nee Peddle) announce her passing at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Sunday, October 1, 2023, age 69 years.
Mary leaves to mourn her husband of 40 years, Howard Elms; children Gregory Trent Jenkins, Todd Jenkins (Deanna), Collin Elms (Olive) step daughter Debbie Drover (Stephen), step son Ronald Elms, step daughter Laurie Elms; grandchildren Nicholas Jenkins, Nathan Jenkins, Peyton Elms, step grandchildren Katie Short, David Drover; nine brothers and sisters, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Mary is predeceased by her first husband, Winston Dwight Jenkins; parents, Frederick and Jane Peddle (nee Drodge).
Public visitation will take place at Calvary Pentecostal Church, Ming's Bight, NL on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.
The funeral service will take place at Calvary Pentecostal Church, Ming's Bight, NL on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 1 pm, with Pastor Ricardo Durdle officiating. Interment will follow at the Calvary Pentecostal Cemetery, Ming's Bight, NL.
Mary had a servant's heart and was actively involved in the church as Women's Ministries executive, and Children's Church and Youth Group. She faithfully played the organ and led church services most Sundays. She freely gave her time to anyone in need of a meal and the door was always open to family and friends.
Mary will be remembered as someone who would always lend a helping hand. She was always cooking and baking and will be remembered for her many pies, bread and other baked goods. She enjoyed knitting and playing games and puzzles.
