Mark went home to be with Jesus on January 18, 2024 at the age of 83 years at Baie Verte Peninsula Health Center.

Mark was born to George and Bessie Small on May 11, 1940. Mark lived in Wild Cove and married Patricia Shepperd of Sunnyside on May 22, 1964. They had three children, Lorne, Oral and David. He fished as a living until 1967 when he went to Eastern Pentecostal Bible College in Peterborough, ON and then full-time ministry for a number of years.  He had a deep faith in God that he loved to share with others. He later returned to Wild Cove in 1976 where he fished full time until retirement.

Left with fond memories are his wife, Patricia of Baie Verte, NL; children, Lorne Small (Michelle) of Baie Verte, NL, Oral Small of Fort McMurray, AB, David Small (Tracey) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; grandchildren, Stefanie Howell (Chris), Dylan Small (Nikita Haas), Jenna Small (Marc Woodall), Mark Small, Caleb Small, Joel Small, Noah Small; great-granddaughter, Hannah Howell; siblings, Ruby Hamlyn, Mabel Rice (Paul); sisters-in-law, Piney Small, Maxine Small; brothers-in-law, Harrold Sheppard (Dulcie), Ron Sheppard (Regina), and many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

Mark was predeceased by his parents, George and Bessie Small; siblings, Lillian Dawe (Edward), John Small (Elvie), Randolph Small, Frances Small (Baxter), Stewart Small, Mildred "Millie" Pardy (Lester) Harold Small, Allan Small (Joyce); parents-in-law, Maxwell and Jessie Sheppard; siblings-in-law, Warrick Pardy, Bert Hamlyn, Jean Small.

Public visitation will take place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Baie Verte, NL on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.

The funeral service will take place from Trinity Pentecostal Church, Baie Verte, NL on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 1 pm, with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Interment will follow from Trinity Pentecostal Cemetery, Baie Verte, NL.
