Obituary

It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Marjorie Louisa Ryan (Dyer) announces her passing from the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at the age of 80 years.


Marjorie Louisa Ryan was born in La Scie, NL on October 30, 1942 to Leander and Ethel Dyer. She met and married Dorman Ryan and they had nine beautiful children together. She worked in the local fish plant for many years and fished alongside her husband Dorman while they raised their children together. She took pride in her work and especially her beautiful garden which you could often see her tending to each day. She also loved to clean and beautify her surroundings. Her thoughtful and giving nature will forever be remembered.


Left with fond and loving memories are her children, Carrie Colbourne (Keith), Fred Ryan (Kim), Rex Ryan (Trudy), Carolyn Ryan (Rick Burton), Silena Ryan (Chris Boyle), John Ryan (Karen); sister, Barbara Newbury (Gord); grandchildren, Jamie Ryan, Andre Grande, Michael, Shawn and Ryan Domalain, Caroline and Charles Dicks, Dylan and Drew Ryan, Haley Ryan, Katie Burton, Jake Gray, Brooklyn and Brady Newbury; great-grandchildren, Danika Shelley, Scarlett Shiner, Jayden Oliver, Blaire and Rowan Gray; sons-in-law, Joe Morgan, Glen Domalain; brothers-in-law, William Ryan (Anne), Grogan Ryan (Patsy), George Ryan (Neta); sisters-in-law, Beulah Dyer, Julie Wiseman, Nina Ryan and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.


Marjorie is predeceased by her husband, Dorman Ryan; daughters, Carolyn Debbie, Marlene Morgan and Norma Domalain; grandson, Allan Morgan; parents, Leander and Ethel Dyer; parents-in-law, William and Eunice Ryan; siblings, Frederick Dyer, Mary Dyer and Ford Dyer; brothers-in-law, Woodrow Newbury, Jim Ryan (Ethel), Raymond Ryan (Betty), Cecil Ryan, Roy Wiseman; sisters-in-law, Sheila Toms (Roy), Idella Burton (Ralph), Phyllis Burton (Weir).


Public visitation took place from The Salvation Army Citadel, La Scie, NL on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.


The funeral service took place from The Salvation Army Citadel, La Scie, NL on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 1 pm with Major Kay Barnes officiating. Interment followed from The Salvation Army Cemetery, La Scie, NL.


As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Marjorie's memory to The Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, c/o The Salvation Army Citadel, P.O. Box 54, La Scie, NL A0K 3M0.


Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
