It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Marjorie Loretta Osmond, known to everyone as Loretta, after a brief stay at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at the age of 71 years.

Loretta leaves to mourn her step-brother, Randy (Lynn) Sooley and family and step-sister, Betty Waterman and family; as well as  a large circle of relatives and friends, especially her Memorial United Church Family.

Loretta is predeceased by her mother, Jean Sooley; step-father, Lionel Sooley, and grandfather, Elias Cooper.

Loretta was a dedicated member of Memorial United Church serving on various committees and lending a hand where needed. She was known to all for her skills as a craftsperson with her knitting and embroidery.

Loretta worked from the age of 18 until her retirement with various companies including Manuels (Twillingate), Marks Work Warehouse, The Lilac Tree and Health Quest. Many remember her smiling face and pleasant manner.

The public visitation will take place place December 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM & 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM Memorial United Church, 13 Hill Road, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL with Rev. Kim Waite officiating.

The interment will follow at 2:00 PM at the United Church Cemetery, Twillingate, NL.

As expressions of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to Memorial United Church, Grand Falls-Windsor, or The Cancer Society.
