Obituary

Passed peacefully away at the Lionel Kelland Hospice on Friday June 5, 2026 at the age of 80 years at Grand falls-Windsor, NL.

Leaving to mourn 2 daughters,  Roxanne Stoodley (Angus Snook) at Hr.Breton, NL, Brenda Beson (Edward) at Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; 2 sons, Roger Stoodley (Robin) at Calgary, AB and Victor Stoodley at Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; Grandchildren, Sidney Bennett, Debbie Drake, Renee Stoodley, Shantelle Stoodley, Meghan Banfield, Matthew Stoodley, Tyler Hanlon and James Hanlon along with 15 great grandchildren; Brothers Willoughby Hanhams (Dorothy) at Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Jake Hanhams (Jane) at New Brunswick, Gordon Hanhams at St. Jacques, NL, Cecil Hanhams (Susan) at Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Randell Hanhams at St. Johns, NL, plus a number of other relatives and friends.

Predeceased by her loving husband Peter Ward and her first husband George Stoodley (father of her children); daughter Sandra Stoodley; Parents Cecil and Anne Hanhams along with a list of other family members.

A visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Monday, June 8,2026 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm.

Funeral services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home at Grand Falls-Windsor on June 9, 2026 at 11am with Rev. Robin Trevors of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.

Lucy Ward was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister,and friend whose kindness, strength, and unconditional love touched the lives of all who knew her. She dedicated her life to her family and found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be loving remembered by her family and friends.  Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Though she is gone from our sight, she will never be gone from our hearts.

A mother's love is a blessing that remains forever in our hearts.
