Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that the family of the late Lorne Bert Maxwell Mitchell announces his passing. Lorne passed away at the Central Newfoundland Regional Hospital, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Saturday, October 9th, 2021 at the age of 73 years.


Lorne is predeceased by his first wife – Maisie Mitchell; son – Aubrey Mitchell; parents – Eleazor & Emma Mitchell; infant sister – Evelyn Mitchell; parents-in-law – Frederick & Sarah Robinson and brothers-in-law – Terry Robinson & Roy Penney; sister-in-law - Donna Mitchell.


Left with many fond and loving memories is his wife – Gleason Robinson-Mitchell; children – Robert Mitchell (Romaine), Pamela Mitchell (Ken) and Morley Mitchell (Ashley); foster daughters – Abby & Bretta Ginter and Jessie Lynn Cross; grandchildren – Maurice, Candace, Heidi, Tiffany, Tara, Tegan, Genevera and Loghen; great-grandchildren – Aubrey, Maisie, William, Gage, Aden, Gabriel, Libby & Finn; brothers – Gus Mitchell (Neta), Jack Mitchell (Clowie), Gordon Mitchell (Myrtis) and Eugene Mitchell (Chloe); sisters – Cassie Dicks (Maxwell), Palma Saunders (Chester) and Phoebe Rideout (Raphael); step-children – Miles Bowers (Sonia) and April Payne (Donnie); step-grandchildren – Aaron, Miranda, Dante, Mandy, Elizabeth and David; siblings-in-law - Clayton (Sharon), Cora (Sterling), Emma (Keith), Thomas (Wanda), Larry (Patti), Randy (Janice), Dean (Taffie) and Jo Ann (Curtis), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.


Pastor Gary Bartlett conducted a Private Family Interment at Oceanview Interfaith Cemetery, Middle Arm, NL on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021 at 1:30PM.


As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Lorne's memory to Oceanview Interfaith Cemetery, Middle Arm, NL.


Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
