It is with great sadness that the family of the late Loretta Charlotte Moore announces her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Hospital, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL aged 86 years.
She was born in a family of fifteen siblings to her loving parents, Neil and Zelma (nee Boutilier) Jewers at Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia on May 6 th , 1936. At the early age of seventeen, Loretta was working at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax where she met and married Warren Moore of Grand Falls, Newfoundland. She was blessed with her first son Larry in 1954 at Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 1956, she moved to Newfoundland where she had her second son, Albert at Grand-Falls. A few years later, she returned to Nova Scotia where she had her three beautiful daughters Cindy, Elaine, and Lana. In 1969, she settled in Badger to raise a family of five children. She was an extremely dedicated, supportive, loving wife and mother who always put her children first.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are son Albert (Melitta) Moore of Botwood, NL; daughters, Cynthia (Tony) Lawlor of Ottawa, ON, Elaine (Wayne) Halbot of Corner Brook, NL, Lana (Doug) Hewitt of Baie Verte, NL; daughter in-law Darlene Fleet (Steven) of NS; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and her husband's extended family.
She is predeceased by her husband Warren Moore and son Larry Moore, parents Neil and Zelma (Boutilier) Jewers; and siblings, Isaac, Brenda, Edgar, Burnell, Neil, Winston, Nola, Elizabeth, Esther, Muriel, Vivian, Francis and special sister in law, Vera Cushing. Loretta is survived by her loving sisters, Rhodessa and Barbara and special friend Ivy Roberts.
A special thank you to the healthcare team at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre and the ICU Unit at the Central Regional Health Centre.
The public visitation will take place Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 2-4 & 7-9 PM from Badger Community Church, Badger, NL.
The funeral service will take place Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 2 PM from Badger Community Church, Badger, NL with cremation to follow. A reception will take place Town Center in Badger immediately following the funeral service.
Flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Badger Community Church, Badger, NL. Donation envelopes will be available at the church or e-transfers may be sent to lanahewitt1@gmail.com.
