It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Lloyd Jenkins announces his passing from the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the age of 89 years.

Lloyd was born on January 21, 1934, at Ming's Bight, to Stanley and Gertie Jenkins. As a young man, he met and married the love of his life, Evelyn Jenkins. They shared their life together at Ming's Bight, where they raised their four children, one girl and three boys.

At a very young age, Lloyd went to work in the lumber woods with his father. In 1963, he started working with Gid Sacrey Ltd., where he spent the majority of his professional life. During this time, he worked in the sawmill as a logger in the woods, a heavy equipment operator, and eventually in construction as a wharf builder and supervisor.

Together, Evelyn and Lloyd enjoyed their vegetable and flower gardens, berry picking, being in the woods, and loved their time at the cabin. Lloyd had a real passion for the outdoors and for animals. He loved his dog, Sheeba, and his cat Allie Mae. He was a very kind and generous man. Always had time to help and share his skills with others.

Left with a lifetime of beautiful memories is his wife of 69 years, Evelyn Jenkins; children, Hubert Jenkins (Gloria), Donna Foster (Roland) and Junior Jenkins (Karen); grandchildren, Trent, Todd (Deanna), Trevor (Terri-Lynn), Travis (Nadine), Lori-Ann (Jeffrey), Leroy (Kelly), Leon (Laurel), Joshua and Kayla; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan, Brittany, Bailee-Lynn), Julia, Lily, Emily, Sadie and Madison; sister, Shirley; sisters-in-law, Rosie and Patsy, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Lloyd is predeceased by his son, Dwight Jenkins; parents, Stanley and Gertie Jenkins; siblings; parents-in-law, Herbert and Patience Sacrey; siblings, Harvey, Sam, Eleazer (Melvina) and Susie "Dot" (Zephlyn).

A visitation for family and close friends took place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Baie Verte, NL on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 6-8 pm.

There will be no public visitations.

The funeral service took place from Calvary Pentecostal Church, Ming's Bight, NL on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 2 pm, with Pastor Ricardo Durdle officiating. Interment followed from Calvary Pentecostal Cemetery, Ming's Bight, NL.
