Lloyd Emerson
Hunt
Jul 25, 1941 — Jan 6, 2026
La Scie
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lloyd Emerson Hunt announces his passing from the Green Bay Health Centre, Springdale on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the age of 84.
Lloyd was born on July 25, 1941 in Badger's Quay to Cecil & Bessie Hunt. In 1962 he moved to Shoe Cove to start a teaching career. There he met & married the love of his life Effie Gray. During their 62 years of marriage they raised a family of 7 children and were blessed with 9 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Lloyd was a very smart and well-respected man who worked at several different careers. Although he started out teaching he also worked as a cook, a mechanic and spent many of his years as a government wharf inspector.
Lloyd was a very quiet man of very few words, but if you got him talking about something he loved, you would often hear many great stories. He enjoyed many hours reading his favorite western books, doing crossword puzzles, or playing cards or crib with some of his greatest friends. He loved watching game shows, especially Jeopardy, and he could often be found calling out the answers to the TV.
He loved spending time with family and friends, especially getting together for a meal or snack. He was well known for his midnight trips to the fridge if he knew there were cookies or dessert in the house.
He spent many years as a member of the Zion United Church Men's Fellowship where him and his fellow men cooked up many, many meals for the members.
A man of few words with a big heart he loved quietly but enormously. you will be missed by all who were blessed to know you.
