It is with broken hearts that the family of Linda Peckford announce her passing at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's, NL, at the age of 70 years.

Left to mourn with cherished memories are her father, Clarence Stride; brothers, Terry (Doris) Stride and Jerry (Laura) Stride; sisters, Marilyn (Terry) Drover and Florance (Rick) Peddle; 17 nieces and nephews; 29 great-nieces and great-nephews; 7 great-great-nieces and nephews; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by her father, William Peckford; mother, Lavinia Stride; and brothers, Wilson and Roy Peckford.

Linda was truly an angel on earth. Soft-spoken and gentle, she carried a quiet strength and a constant smile that made her beloved by all who knew her. Despite having a large family, she never let a birthday pass without ensuring a card was sent—a simple gesture that meant so much. She was an avid reader and a woman of deep and unwavering faith, praying daily, right up until her final days. Her devotion was evident in every aspect of her life, always placing others before herself.

Even during her illness, Linda continued to think of others, making phone calls to check in on loved ones. She shared a special bond with her nephews, Trey and Kade Peddle. Whether reading storybooks, playing superheroes, or "hunting zombies," she embraced their imagination wholeheartedly—even when the rules changed time and time again. Her playful spirit brought joy to all who witnessed it. One memorable moment saw her in the garden wearing a Spider-Man mask, stick in hand, explaining simply, "I'm just hunting zombies with Kade." Family meant everything to her.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Munir at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Clinic; Dr. Sait and Dr. Manning, oncologists at the Health Sciences Centre; and the compassionate nursing staff on the 5th floor. Your care and kindness will never be forgotten. A special thank you to Denise Barkhouse of the cleaning staff, whose visits and warm hugs brought comfort to Linda, and to Maureen and Mark Coffey for their faithful support and visits during her time in hospital.

The family also wishes to thank everyone who reached out with love, support, and kindness during this difficult time. Your compassion has meant more than words can express.

In keeping with Linda's wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
