It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Lewis John Noble announces his passing from the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Sunday, June 4, 2023, aged 74 years.

Lewis was born in Burlington to Lavinia and William Noble and grew up as the middle brother to Melvin and Gordon. Lewis spoke often about his memories of childhood, his teenage years and of being a young man here in Burlington. They were a close-knit family that's for sure.

Lewis met Barbara here in Burlington when she was back and forth to the summer home her parents had here. They dated for two years and then married in 1979 and would be celebrating 44 years this August. Lewis and Barbara were married for 5 years before they started a family and spent their time on skidoo, travelling by vehicle around the island, visiting family in St. John's and camping. After their 3 children came along the travels didn't stop, going out on woods roads, travelling here and there and trying to let the children see as many different places as they could. Always carrying a lunch and snacks and loving the little cook ups in the woods.

The years they were in Robert's Arm from 2003 to 2008 were some of the best years of his life. It was here he met Eugene Fudge, Lod Anthony, Domi Oake, and Sandy Rowsell . He dearly loved all the music and get togethers with these fine gentlemen. They played at church services, flower cemetery services and gospel sing-a longs and concerts etc. Lewis learned how to play bass guitar. After they left Robert's Arm they made many trips up there to visit what became life long friends. He always brought his guitar for a "pick" at Gene's place. Thanks to Gene and Ron Knight for the telephone calls over the years to Lewis.

Lewis loved the next chapter in his life and that was his grandchildren. He absolutely adored Remy-Lee, Rhett and Rayna and they adored him. When they moved next door, it was amazing to be able to see them everyday and have them come visit and share meals and snacks.

Lewis's cancer journey started June 1 of last year and it has led us here one year later. We are saddened to lose him especially after the death of his two brothers since 2019, but we know he would want us to go on and live our best lives with all the memories we will cherish.

Our family would like to thank the Nurses at the Cancer Centre in Grand Falls and especially Dr. Wendy House and our Oncologist in St. John's Dr. Chaudhary Ahmad. Special thanks to Ruth Wells of the Palliative Care Team and Sherry Linoff of Continuing Care. Our biggest thank you goes to the nurses at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, who walked this journey with us when I could no longer care for him at home. You were all amazing and understanding and your help to us will not be forgotten. Thanks to Connie and Corinne and Keisha for being there this past weekend.

Thanks to my 3 children who became my rock when I didn't know I needed one and to Gloria and Karen for being there through this journey with our little family. Thanks to Gus and Markis for your love and care. You are all loved so much.

Left with a lifetime of beautiful memories is his wife, Barbara Noble; children, Lisa Noble (Gus Lynch), Peter Noble and Stephanie Martin (Markis); grandchildren, Remy-Lee, Rhett and Rayna; mother-in-law, Joycelyn Green; siblings-in-law, Paul Green (Elizabeth), Hope Green, Gloria Green (Karen Traverse), David Green (Bonnie), Robert Green (Lorilee), Peter Green (Darlene) and Heather Newbury (Trevor); special friends, Eugene Fudge and Ron Knight, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Lewis is predeceased by his parents, William and Lavina Noble; brothers, Gordon Noble and Melvin Noble; father-in-law, Clayton Green.

In keeping with his wishes, aquamation will take place and there will be no funeral service at this time.
