Kenneth George
Gray
Jun 22, 1954 — Jan 20, 2026
La Scie
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Kenneth George Gray announces his passing at the Lionel Kelland Hospice in Grand Falls–Windsor, NL, with family at his bedside, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the age of 71 years.
Kenneth was born on June 22, 1954, in La Scie, NL, to George and Effie Gray. He grew up in La Scie and began working at the fish plant at the age of 16. In 1977, Kenneth met the love of his life and best friend, Donna Loder. They later married and settled in La Scie in 1980, where they raised their two sons, Jarvis and Jamie.
Kenneth was a quiet and gentle man who enjoyed the outdoors. Spending time in the woods during the winter cutting firewood was his favourite place to be. He loved being with family and friends, especially sharing a meal or enjoying a hand of cards. Kenneth took great pride in his homestead and never wanted to be far from home.
Above all else, Kenneth's greatest joy in life was his family. His children and grandchildren meant everything to him and were truly the centre of his world. He cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was offering quiet guidance, lending a helping hand, or simply enjoying their company. Kenneth was always there when they needed him, and his love, kindness, and unwavering support will forever be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
Kenneth was predeceased by his beloved son, Jarvis; his parents, George and Effie Gray; his brother, Bob Gray, and sister-in-law, Bernice Gray; his brother-in-law, Frank Hartigan; his parents-in-law, Selby and Blanche Loder; his brothers-in-law, Ralph Loder and Abe Hill; his nephews, Stephen Burton and Kenny Kerfont; and his niece, Tracey Critch.
Left to mourn with a lifetime of love and cherished memories is his devoted wife, Donna; his son, Jamie (Amy); his daughter-in-law, Cindy Lee; and his beloved grandchildren, Cruz and Gracie.
He is also survived by his sisters, Cora, Triffie (Harvey), Olive (Boyd), Patsy, Valerie (Willy), Peggy, and Nola (Alex); his brothers, Woodrow (Gail), Vic (Marlene), and Rick (Peggy); his brothers-in-law, Albert (Gloria) and Ross; his sisters-in-law, Mary, Ivy (Art), Selma, Sadie (Nelson), Alice (Kevin), Shirley Gray and Marie Loder; as well as a long list of nephews, nieces, and extended family who loved him dearly.
The funeral service will take place at Bethel Pentecostal Church in La Scie on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 1:00 pm. A public viewing will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 pm and 6:00–8:00 pm.
