Joseph Shea's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Joseph Patrick Shea announces his passing. Joseph passed away at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Friday, April 17th, 2020 at the age of 70 years.
Predeceased by his parents - Thomas & Stella Shea; father-in-law - Michael James Downey; siblings - Florence Traverse (William John) and Madeline Traverse (Clarence) and siblings-in-law - Frankie Downey, Elizabeth Sampson, Lizann Shea, Elias Downey and George Baggs.
Left to cherish many wonderful memories his is wife of 33 years - Lorraine (Downey) Shea, Fleur de Lys, NL; son - Josh Shea (Nikita), Brent's Cove, NL; two precious grandsons - Ethan & Lukas Shea, Brent's Cove, NL; mother-in-law - Mary Francis Downey; siblings - Thomas Shea (Lene), Gerald Shea, Peter Shea, Lucy Tobin (Pat), Edna Belliveau (Raymond), Ruby Cousins (John), Carmel Alyward (Lloyd) and Maryann Downey; siblings-in-law - Morris Downey, Fabian Downey (Carmel), Don Downey (Jody), Teresina Baggs and Mike Downey (Jackie) as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A special thanks extended to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre and the staff of the Cancer Unit at the Central Newfoundland Regional Hospital, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL for their care of Joseph over the years.
Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, the Public Health Advisory and associated restrictions, we regret to announce that there will be no Visitation or Mass of Christian Burial at this time.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph's memory to the Children's Wish Foundation, Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter, 221-31 Peet Street, St. John's, NL, A1B 3W8.
We encourage extended family and friends to share condolences, memories and/or photos to Joseph's memorial wall, available on our website. All items will be documented and displayed in our personalized guestbook and presented to the Shea family.
