It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jerome Joseph Barker announces his sudden passing. Jerome passed away at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the age of 66 years.

Jerome is predeceased by his wife – Clara Drover; parents – James and Bridget Barker; brother – Garrett Barker; parents-in-law – Cyril and Anastasia Drover; brothers-in-law and good friends – Al McDonald and Art Payne; sister-in-law – Wavey Barker; special niece – Twilla Seymour.

Left to cherish a lifetime of wonderful memories is his daughter – Vera Drover, Harbour Round, NL; sisters – Ag Skinner (Norman), Annie Payne (Greggie), Mill Breen (Mart), Rita McDonald and Delphine Corbett (Brian); brother – Gord Barker; sisters-in-law – Bernice Seymour (Lorne), Dot Seymour (Michael P.) Leona Seymour (Garrett), Bet Drover, Jenny Drover (Steve) and Nancy Gray (Pete); brothers-in-law – Mike Drover (Lucy), Gord Drover (Debbie, Dave Drover (Rocky) and Bruce Drover (Laurie); special lifelong friend – Billy Sullivan; special great-nieces – Lori and Maggie; special great-nephew – Jacob, along with a large number of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Public Visitation took place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Harbour Round, NL on Sunday, January 16, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM, continuing on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM. In keeping with the COVID-19 guidelines, public visitations must be limited to one family bubble at a time and visitors must provide NLVaxPass or proof of vaccination + photo id to attend the visitation.

Father Camillus Ekedobe conducted a private family Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Harbour Round, NL on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 1:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be by invitation only, those attending the service must provide NLVaxPass or proof of vaccination + photo ID. Interment followed at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Round, NL.
